Prelude 2024
Prelude is the annual induction ceremony for students newly admitted to the Jepson School of Leadership Studies. On Nov. 6, the school welcomed 88 sophomores and three juniors to its ranks.
One is a Presidential Scholar, another a Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholar, and two are Bonner Scholars. Two are recipients of Richmond College’s Mateer Prize. Six are Gary McDowell Institute Fellows, one attended the Jepson at Cambridge program this past summer, and another completed a summer program at the London School of Economics. They are resident assistants, orientation assistants, speech consultants, peer academic advisors, peer career advisors, and tutors.
They serve on Honor Council, Student Conduct Council, Robins Student Government, Richmond College Student Government, Westhampton Student Government, and the Jepson Student Government Association. They perform with UR Wind Ensemble, University Jazz Ensemble, Schola Cantorum, and acapella groups. Sixteen members of our newest class are Division I athletes, and many more hold leadership roles in a wide variety of clubs on campus.
The Jepson School is a special place in that it brings a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of leadership, while providing a close-knit, supportive academic community. The administration, faculty, and staff extend a warm welcome to our newest class.
